ARTIST STATEMENT

My artistic practice embodies a transgression towards structures and systems of oppression, rooted in my familial history of colonial displacement. Taking inspiration from the disruptive spirit of hacker culture, my sculptural projects imagine a new equitable future for humanity.

Working between objects, environments, and architectural spaces, my work often takes shape as site-specific interventions that explore the connection between art and activism. Using a hybrid and composite approach to materiality in steel, wood, plastic and ready-mades, I look to reinterpret culture’s consumerist and mediadefined relationships to objects and space.
