Born in Montreal, QC, Dale Crockett is an emerging artist currently doing a BFA, Major in Photography at Concordia University. Her art practice revolves around digital, analogue, and cameraless photographic practices, video, and soundscaping.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Her work explores the fragility of belonging, the connections we have with place, and questions the meaning of home at the intersection of climate change and consumer culture. She is particularly interested in the role of tourism on the commodification of nature, and the impact on local communities.

She is drawn to both remote landscapes and those found near her home. Her work thrives through fieldwork and site-specific projects guided by post-anthropocentrism. Alongside her creative work, Dale has an undergrad in communications and has worked in journalism for more than two decades.
